What is a coqui?

The coqui is only the coolest little frog on the planet. Every night in Puerto Rico, especially in the countryside, you can hear him singing: coqui, coqui. There's no sound in the world that makes me feel more at home.

The coqui is indigenous to Puerto Rico but it has recently found a home in the islands of Hawaii. Despite the fact that our little frog is living the American Dream in the Pacific, locals hate his song. Many hotels even carry signs that read "Coqui-free Hotel," as if that were something to brag about. (So wrong.) But our coqui doesn't care much for the opinion of others: it sings, has fun and enjoys life. It is because of this joie de vivre that I consider the coqui my Spirit Animal. Because it's important to sing, no matter what, because life is a moveable feast.
